Just Saying

Quite an unlikely title for the subject matter but oh well....   So, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu tweeted about prostitution and I think the responses were down right annoying. We act like we are perfect beings, who don't sin. There are several points to be made here but I dont want to go on and on. I just want to say that I do not support prostitution, but I think it's a good conversation to be had. It doesn't matter how much we turn up our noses about it. It is still going on. People are making a living being prostitutes and they are being patronized. Hell fire or not. So,can we have a proper discussion, 'sans' religion or morality on this topic? Read about Toyin Lawani's engagment this morning. She said yes to her 21 year old boyfriend. And I read with utter delight and amusement the comments that followed. Read it HERE ! The 1st comment was child molestation and child's play = jail time. hahahahaha. Totally hilarious. Beyond the main subject matter of an older woman dating/getting married to a younger man and beyond the maturity question. I would like to bring to your attention the more subtle issues.  Had the case been reversed, less people would raise an eyebrow. There would even be jokes like - catch them young,help them grow. Men would congratulate the guy about his 'accomplishment'. And people would wish them well all round. Isn't that hypocritical of us as a people? Is the 21 year old female more mature? Does she really understand what she is about to do? Is she more prepared?Is a 21 year old(male/female) able to make that kind of decision? My other point is more a question. Is it soo wro

                Sorry for the long absence. I lost my zeal for awhile. Even thought about deleting my blog. Luckily, I had a burst of inspiration this morning and thought it best to keep it open for moments when I feel the need to air interesting views or perspectives.
