Marriages Everywhere......

What is it about relationships that fascinate the human being soo much? All sorts of books on how to 'catch your soulmate', articles abound on 10 steps to the 'perfect relationship' and blogs awash with all manner of agony aunt letters. One would assume with all this info,getting a partner would be easy.

Shared this on my facebook page a few weeks ago. Since then there have been several agony aunt mails on the blogs I read on relationships/marriage.


All of them, some depressing story about marriage/relationships- spouses cheating, lost love, violence etc... We all know marriage isn't a bed of roses but it isn't always bad and sometimes you have to look at the big picture.


So, I am starting a post for positive/realistic stories about marriage. 


           Feel free to tell us yours or a "friend's" story. Not testimony style,just how marriage has been good and how you solve problems/conflicts.

Here We Go Again... Arggghhhh! I remember my last valentine’s day. It was spent eating a bag of M&Ms and feeling sorry for myself. This year, I promised to have no expectations, same as last year. Oga At The Top....... Some Perspective

I am sure we have all seen the short clip of the Lagos State  Commandant of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) on Channels TV. So, I won't bug you with that. What I think would be beneficial if you can spare about 20 minutes to watch the full interview.  Part 1       Part 2 The first issue is the claim that channels TV presenters were not fair to the guy. hmmmmmmm.How do I start? Watching the whole interview, gives better perspective . Truth is, the presenters were fed up.The man through out the interview didn't answer 1 question directly. He had to be guided through out the process. Question after question had to be broken down and he would regularly say- My Oga(s) at the top. Not that I support them but I felt their pain. HYpertension and snoring..... REALLY!!

Okay, so I am a medical doctor and I  practiced in Nigeria. So i honestly felt i had the skinny on hypertension. I mean we all know the risk factors- familial, sedentary lifestyle, obesity , alcohol blah blah blah.  Imagine my utter shock and amusement when i saw a comment on linda ikeji's blog about causes of hypertension and someone said snoring. i was about to reply- what utter hogwash! but i decided for the sake of ..... . to check. I checked and behold. Shock, i tell you. Shock. Anyhow, we live and we learn. so, yes! snoring has been linked to hypertension. snoring causes sleep apnea, which is just a fancy way of saying oxygen deprivation. Snoring and its resulting low oxygen supply to the body can have a similar effect as lack of sleep . Research shows that someone who doesnt sleep has a higher tendency or higher risk factor for hypertension. you can find more information HERE and HERE .
