The Other Man or Woman

I have a pretty simple question. Why does a woman/man become a mistress? I mean, ignoring or putting aside the socio-economic reason that is touted most times. How satisfying is it really to have a man/woman that is only there half the time,if it's even up to half.  Someone you can't call at the drop off the hat. Can only provide you with their full attention once in awhile and can walk out on you or deny you whenever.

I mean, you can't possibly show off this person. For all you Instagram addicts, you can't put up pictures of you and this 'special person'. You definitely can't 'loud' this relationship. So, in some ways,as my sister puts it - it's a hole in the corner affair.





Well, I think there must be some kind of thrill for these people. It's the same way an addict gets high. They enjoy the thrill of a new relationship. One that only 'they' know about. They pretend in public but get 'high' in private. They discover new things about themselves and allow themselves to explore the other person a lot more than they would explore their legitimate mate. I think this thrill is what keeps the "other woman/man' going. how long the thrill lasts?

Here We Go Again... Arggghhhh! I remember my last valentine’s day. It was spent eating a bag of M&Ms and feeling sorry for myself. This year, I promised to have no expectations, same as last year. Oga At The Top....... Some Perspective

I am sure we have all seen the short clip of the Lagos State  Commandant of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) on Channels TV. So, I won't bug you with that. What I think would be beneficial if you can spare about 20 minutes to watch the full interview.  Part 1       Part 2 The first issue is the claim that channels TV presenters were not fair to the guy. hmmmmmmm.How do I start? Watching the whole interview, gives better perspective . Truth is, the presenters were fed up.The man through out the interview didn't answer 1 question directly. He had to be guided through out the process. Question after question had to be broken down and he would regularly say- My Oga(s) at the top. Not that I support them but I felt their pain. HYpertension and snoring..... REALLY!!

Okay, so I am a medical doctor and I  practiced in Nigeria. So i honestly felt i had the skinny on hypertension. I mean we all know the risk factors- familial, sedentary lifestyle, obesity , alcohol blah blah blah.  Imagine my utter shock and amusement when i saw a comment on linda ikeji's blog about causes of hypertension and someone said snoring. i was about to reply- what utter hogwash! but i decided for the sake of ..... . to check. I checked and behold. Shock, i tell you. Shock. Anyhow, we live and we learn. so, yes! snoring has been linked to hypertension. snoring causes sleep apnea, which is just a fancy way of saying oxygen deprivation. Snoring and its resulting low oxygen supply to the body can have a similar effect as lack of sleep . Research shows that someone who doesnt sleep has a higher tendency or higher risk factor for hypertension. you can find more information HERE and HERE .
