My Love Affair

My love affair started a few months back. It started as with all affairs, when we started communicating. It crept up on me. I wasn't even aware it was happening. This relationship which seemed untenable in the beginning. Was turning into something more. You were slowly becoming the best part of my day. Yes, it was still overwhelming and a lot of work but I had hit the sweet part. When you smile at me, it is such sweet joy. You literally light up my world.
Okay, enough gushing already. Let's just say it was surprising. The early days were not easy. I was with you the whole day and didn't feel loved. Didn't feel wanted. I felt used. Felt like no one really cared. But like with most things it got better. We evolved and now, we are one. I know this won't last forever but I cherish each moment. Each kiss, every simple hug and I love your laugh most of all.

Here We Go Again... Arggghhhh! I remember my last valentine’s day. It was spent eating a bag of M&Ms and feeling sorry for myself. This year, I promised to have no expectations, same as last year. HYpertension and snoring..... REALLY!!

Okay, so I am a medical doctor and I  practiced in Nigeria. So i honestly felt i had the skinny on hypertension. I mean we all know the risk factors- familial, sedentary lifestyle, obesity , alcohol blah blah blah.  Imagine my utter shock and amusement when i saw a comment on linda ikeji's blog about causes of hypertension and someone said snoring. i was about to reply- what utter hogwash! but i decided for the sake of ..... . to check. I checked and behold. Shock, i tell you. Shock. Anyhow, we live and we learn. so, yes! snoring has been linked to hypertension. snoring causes sleep apnea, which is just a fancy way of saying oxygen deprivation. Snoring and its resulting low oxygen supply to the body can have a similar effect as lack of sleep . Oga At The Top....... Some Perspective

I am sure we have all seen the short clip of the Lagos State  Commandant of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) on Channels TV. So, I won't bug you with that. What I think would be beneficial if you can spare about 20 minutes to watch the full interview.  Part 1       Part 2 The first issue is the claim that channels TV presenters were not fair to the guy. hmmmmmmm.How do I start? Watching the whole interview, gives better perspective . Truth is, the presenters were fed up.The man through out the interview didn't answer 1 question directly. He had to be guided through out the process. Question after question had to be broken down and he would regularly say- My Oga(s) at the top. Not that I support them but I felt their pain. Not forgetting that one of the issues he was called  upon to clarify was this issue of various false websites. So it only made sense to ask- what the official NSCDC website is.
